August 26-September1

I am so behind on blogging! Jane has changed so much and I hate I have not been documenting everything. Things I have noticed or seen this week...

Jane will be right handed

She has been scooping up food (mostly cottage cheese, her favorite food) with a spoon and getting it in her mouth. A little help is needed still on the scooping though. She will also work on stabbing food with her spork but it ends with her just picking it up.

She gets really excited when she sees Cheerios and loves to reach in the bag.

She LOVES to dance! By the 5th beat of a song, Jane is moving. Her hands conduct, her hips sway, feet are stomping and she will even bob her head. (she performs well to Beyonce "Single Ladies" since she motions her left hand and can sing "uh,uh oh.."). She has a new Meow-sic keyboard that has a microphone, will play tunes or back up beats, sing into the mic or play the notes. She has really enjoyed this-and so have we!(video to come)

Jane has great balance. She will trip or spin around and look like she is about to fall down, but she will catch herself and keep going. I like to think that her balance came from doing yoga with me in the womb.

Her facial expressions have multiplied. She will scrunch her nose and arch her eye brows. She has a distinct upset face, a precious smile and a contagious laugh.

Her hair is really growing and it is still very blonde. We have moved up in our bow size and I love seeing her bed head after a good nap. Her hair will flip out over her ears and the back will stick straight up.

She still loves bathtime-the wind up toys, stacking cups and the floating toys especially.

She loves a purse. She pulls each item out, inspects it, then creates a pile to her side. Once everything has been viewed she starts putting them back.

I am amazed at how Jane can unscrew lip gloss tubes, pull out the wand for inspection then be able to insert the wand back into the tube. That is a small target! She also has an even smaller toy nail polish and she can get the brush into the bottle. I am still looking for a toy to enhance this skill if anyone has any suggestions.

She has really enjoyed her forward facing car seat which means mommy and daddy are happy too!

She is speaking so much more. Bottle (baba and batuh), dog, you (doo), thank you (danku), juice. She has also started signing (after months of just watching me and laughing) to indicate she is finished or all done after a meal or bath.
