We were invited to come down to New Iberia, LA for the Tabasco Gumbo Cookoff by Katherine and Lindsey Callon. We stayed with the Rountrees in Lafayette and all went out to eat Saturday night at Mr. Lester's Steakhouse with a little gambling afterwards. On Saturday, we had lunch at Paige and Doug Woodring's house in their new outdoor living space in New Iberia on Saturday.
Sunday, the boys left early for the cookoff since they were guest judges for the armature gumbo competition. The girls joined at Katherine's parent's house next to the event and sampled the best gumbos! The boys have a lot of practicing to do if they want to join next year. Thank you to everyone for hosting us in South Louisiana! We look forward to next year!
