It's a Girl!

Hyde and I are happy to introduce Jane Carruthers Carby.  Sweet baby Jane is
named in honor of two of her great-grandmothers, her maternal grandmother,
and her paternal aunt.  At 22 weeks, she weighs 1lb. 2oz. and will arrive
around September 5th.  We look forward to meeting her!

Belly Progress: 20 Weeks

Okay, here is a picture of my belly! Monday, April 20th, I felt the baby move! It feels more like a flutter, but it was amazing! I hate that Hyde could not feel it, but I'm sure we will have plenty of movement in the future. This Saturday will mark half way and start my 21st week. Next Tursday, the 30th, we will find out the sex of Baby Carby.
We are looking forward to the Wilco show and a Double Decker weekend in Oxford.

A Carruthers Family Easter: 2009

The extended Carruthers Family gathered Saturday, April 11 in Memphis for Easter. We had a great time catching up with all our cousins and enjoying the nice weather outside. Here are a few pictures from the afternoon.

Growing and Growing...

Baby Carby must be having a growth spurt this week because my tummy is feeling those growing pains. According to the books, baby will be 6" long this week and weigh up to 7 oz. Baby Carby will increase in weight 15 times between now and delivery.

Local man receives jambalaya pot, dies, goes to heaven!

Hyde's newest "toys" include a 4 gallon cast iron tripod bowl and a 16 quart pot for boiling crawfish, etc. He has had the best time setting up the propane fueled fire and cooking outdoors. We have enjoyed his jambalaya, crawfish, and shrimp etouffe'. He will be outside for hours chopping and stirring and has a smile on his face the whole time. The food is delicious, but I love watching him in the process more than the final product. Now that crawfish season is in full swing I am sure we will be seeing him out in the yard very often.
