New Long Last Farm Buddies

Miss Mags and I went to the farm this weekend and had a great time hanging out with Mom, Dad, and all the Long Last Farm critters. We played at the barn Saturday morning and Mags made several new friends. BB is still at the vet and was greatly missed, but we are glad the rock she swallowed was found and she is recovering.

Mags thought she would cool off in the water trough and made two new friends in the process. I thought it was appropriate that she picked the trough with the duck decoy.

Is this a Rubbermaid ad, or what?

Grenada Block Party

Grace's neighbors threw a casual engagement party on Saturday, June 27. We had a great time meeting the Grenada folks and dancing to the two man band (one was actually my music appreciation teacher at Ole Miss). Thank you to all the Grenada friends for your hospitality!

LSU Pride

I had to post this. Hyde wore his LSU Tiger tie to work on Thursday in honor of the Purple and Gold's World Series Championship. We cheered the Tigers on during the 2-1 defeat of Texas and are proud of the Louisiana Fighting Tigers! We loved watching Lewis Coleman, a native of Schlater and alum of Pillow Academy, pitch for LSU before heading to Kansas City next year. We are so glad he came back for his senior year with LSU and congratulate the whole team on their victory. Geaux Tigers!

Happy Father's Day!

Dad's new phone gadget. I love it. Can you just picture him riding down the road talking on the old school phone?

Grace and Micajah's Greenwood Engagement Party

Greenwood celebrated Micajah and Grace's engagement on June 20 at Jack Johnson's house. It was great to see family and friends share their excitement of their upcoming marriage. The top left picture is of the combined family; The Gores, Sturdivants, Arnolds and Lambdins. The top right pictures is of Grace's grandparents, Mop and Pop Arnold with Grandmom and Papa Sturdivant. The middle left picture is of Grace, Darlene, Meredith (Grace's sister), and Jay Gore with Jan, Mike and Micajah Sturdivant. Ewing and Jane Carruthers made the trip as well. Below the Carruthers are Gary and Kathryn Dyksterhouse. And the last picture is of Micajah toasting everyone that came as well as his bride to be, Grace.

Blueberry Fields Forever

Saturday, June 20, Mom took me, Hyde and Miss Mags blueberry pickin' at Mr. Ashcraft's blueberry farm in Sidon. Before we knew it, we had picked 5 gallons of fresh blueberries. I don't know who had more fun-us or Miss Mags. She loved running around and playing with the children pickin' with their families.
After the blueberry fields, we drove into downtown Greenwood to the Summer Farmer's Market. We checked out all the booths and fresh produce, baked goods, and handmade products.
Before heading home for lunch, we stopped in Delta Feed across the street. I have many memories from my childhood at Delta Feed. This is where Mom bought her feed, fertilizer, plants, etc and where we got our Easter bunnies and chickens. After checking out the chickens, I headed inside across the original hardwood floors to make sure the penny,-yes, one cent- gumball machine was still there. To my delight, it was and it was still full of gumballs. Because we spent many afternoons on the way home at Delta Feed, mostly agaist our will, the gumball machine was very important! I have not been to Delta Feed in years but was thrilled to see it still has its charm.

27 Weeks Completed

I cannot believe Jane will be here in 12 weeks! Today is the first day of my 28th week. I am still feeling great, but have started making a list of all the things I wanted to finish before she comes. The list is long, but I think I can knock them out! They are all fun projects: knitting, smocking, painting. And of course all are for Jane.
Here is the latest belly picture with Miss Mags.

Miss Mags Carby, Ph.D.

The Magpie made her official return to Carbydom on Saturday. She's been at school since January and has made fantastic progress. Her obedience is rock solid, and she's been through force fetch and collar conditioning and she is steady to shot. She's developed the ultimate lab demeanor - she's calm and submissive around people, but a 60lb. rocket in the field. This dog will retreive until she is stepping on her tongue, and Hyde is over the moon about her. Most importantly, she's the same sweet puppy we dropped off last winter. She still likes ice slugs and getting a good tummy rub. Plus, and this is huge, her house breaking came right back! We can't wait for y'all to meet her.

Dance Party USA

Today I was able to hang out with Miss Mags and finally relax after a hectic 2 weeks. Jane had a different idea...she had a dance party in my belly all afternoon! For the first time, Hyde and I were able to watch my belly move. It is wild to think that she is growing so much that we can now see her when she moves around. Within the past week, I have felt her move a lot, but normally it's in the morning or right before I go to sleep. I have even been awakened by her karate like moves... ninja chops, judi chops, and roundhouse kicks. I have watched Diamond Dave's training video and apparently it has rubbed off on Jane. If you haven't seen it, click here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IR8wH4k1zGc
I love feeling and seeing her move and await her next session.
