Saturday, June 20, Mom took me, Hyde and Miss Mags blueberry pickin' at Mr. Ashcraft's blueberry farm in Sidon. Before we knew it, we had picked 5 gallons of fresh blueberries. I don't know who had more fun-us or Miss Mags. She loved running around and playing with the children pickin' with their families.
After the blueberry fields, we drove into downtown Greenwood to the Summer Farmer's Market. We checked out all the booths and fresh produce, baked goods, and handmade products.
Before heading home for lunch, we stopped in Delta Feed across the street. I have many memories from my childhood at Delta Feed. This is where Mom bought her feed, fertilizer, plants, etc and where we got our Easter bunnies and chickens. After checking out the chickens, I headed inside across the original hardwood floors to make sure the penny,-yes, one cent- gumball machine was still there. To my delight, it was and it was still full of gumballs. Because we spent many afternoons on the way home at Delta Feed, mostly agaist our will, the gumball machine was very important! I have not been to Delta Feed in years but was thrilled to see it still has its charm.
