Spending the night out

Jane is growing up so fast that she is spending the night out now! She
stayed with Stella and Philip two nights this weekend. She eats finger
foods (carrots, sweet potatoes, bananas, and green beans), somtimes
gets the spoon of food in her mouth, holds her bottle by herself and
doesn't want anything to do with any of us trying to feed her! After
dinner she enjoys bathtime but it must end with a good hair blowout.
Jane loves having her hair blow dried and we love experimenting with
new styles as her hair gets fuller and longer. Below is a picture of
Stella and Philip's final product. Looking good big girl!!

Lunch with Pappa Mike

Just discussing commodity prices, weather, and farming in general over lunch with Papa Mike...

Uh Oh!

Jane can now say "Uh Oh"! I was able to catch it on video this afternoon. Also, today is the first day Jane has worn a bow in her hair! Too cute!

party girl (a video from me)

Jane attended the Humane Society's Kentucky Derby party in honor of Elmer Carby on Saturday, May 26. She was too excited about going that she skipped her afternoon nap and because she loves a good party, she did not want to admit she was tired and go to sleep. We were able to get a video of her right before she finally gave up. I think we have a party girl on our hands.

Delta Visit

Jane, Miss Mags and I were Delta bound Monday, May 17. I had not been home since our brief visit February 7 for Jane's baptism and I have not seen Dad since then either. Mom has been to Natchez two times since Jane's Baptism, but I was needing some home time!
We had a great relaxing time. Mags was able to run the farm with Walker and Sydney and was exhausted by Thursday when we left. Jane loved playing with Gran Jan and Pappa Mike and showing them how she could crawl and eat food by herself. I could shoot myself for forgetting the camera and video camera, but I was able to catch a few moments with my phone. I hung out with Mom around the house, shopped on Howard Street, found my childhood stuffed animals and dolls for Jane, and beat Dad in gin. We were also able to eat at the Crystal Grill with Kathy and Johnny Jennings, Dale Pillow and Susan Montgomery. Yum! Great Grandmom Ygondine (aka GG) and Pappa stopped in for a visit and brought Jane the cute Ole Miss cheerleader doll in the video below.

On our way home, we visited with Odell and Dennis Ratliff. Then in Jackson we had lunch with Alice Broughton Cox and Aunt Grace. Grace kept Jane and Mags while I got a haircut and before we headed back to Natchez, Micajah was able to make it home from work and play with Jane too. We are so glad that Micajah and Grace have moved back to Jackson!! We love that they will be so close for visits!!
What a great trip! We loved seeing everyone and hope to do it again very soon!

Destin: May 1-6, 2010

We had a great time at the beach with Jane. She loved being down at the beach, but absolutely had a blast at the pool (probably because Hyde and I were to worked up about her staying on the towel and not getting in the sand). She did eat one handful of sand before I could get to her. There are two pictures below of her eating sand.
The first collage is from Day 1 and the second is Day 2. The last collage is also from Day 2, but once she discovered the pool. I have a feeling we will be spending a lot of time at the pool this summer. Jane has the Jenkins swimming gene!
You can click on each collage to view them larger.

Oil Spill Help

Check this site out:

It is a great idea to absorb oil. I hope it can help the coast! Mention it to your salon so they can also help out.
