Princess at The King and Prince

Needless to say, Jane had a blast at The King and Prince in St Simon's Island, GA this summer! MThe whole Sturdivant family has been going here for my whole life and it holds a very special place in my heart. To add to the wonderful times I have had here, Jane began walking independently during this trip! We look forward to spending more summers here and adding to the memories!

11 Month Mark

I cannot believe Jane is already 11 months and that we are planning a 1st birthday! I am very behind on blogging so I thought I would just list a few things that have changed/happened recently. Once I download the pictures and videos from our trip, I will post more about each.

July 28-Jane was caught on camera taking several steps by herself

August 1-Jane was found climbing up the outside of her pack and play. She was hanging on the rail walking up the side. Ahh!

August 3-Jane was feeling comfortable walking around the 1' baby pool and around the condo. Luckily, Jane learned to walk on wall to wall carpet versus all hard woods at our house.

August 4-Jane starts drinking out of the straw from her lidded cup. She loves taking the straw in and out of the lid.

August 6-We finally discovered that Jane was cutting 2 bottom teeth. That makes 6 teeth!

August 10-Jane turns 11 Months

August 16-Jane copied my correcting Maggie. I pointed at Maggie and said "sit" then Jane did the same. I couldn't stop laughing. I have always said Jane's first words were going to be "Maggie-No". It was very close though!

When asked, "Where's your bow?" she reaches up and feels the top of her head. If a bow is there she takes it out and hands it to you.

She sticks her tongue out then smiles, clicks her tongue off the roof of her mouth, and makes a fish face then pops her mouth open.

She has mastered the art of taking smaller objects in and out of a larger object, in particular, wooden shape blocks/box and my purse!

Moo Cow Milk

August 17: Jane started drinking cow's milk! Jane had 4 bottles, each with 5 ounces of breastmilk and 1 ounce of organic vitamin D cow's milk. So far no reaction....Yea!

A New Cousin to the Mix

We are expecting a new Carby cousin in March!!
Bettye Jane and Charlie are expecting! I could not be any happier for them! They tried to keep it a secret, but just couldn't hold it in any longer. March 27, 2011 is their due date and they will find out the sex in early November.
Bettye Jane was not feeling well, but is doing much better now. We are so excited Junior Junior is coming!! Jane, Kathryn and Jr.Jr. will be within 18 months of each other. How much fun will they have growing up together?! Will it be another girl??? (My guess is girl)

Carpe Diem Coffee House

We had some time before the Rachel's Bridesmaid Pool Party so we hit up the Carpe Diem coffee house for breakfast. Mmmm

Beach Time

Sunday, the whole family made it down to the beach. Jane walked the longest she has walked to date and I apologize for the long video, but I figured I should just keep going and I could edit out the boring parts later. We asked the couple under the umbrella next to us to take a family picture for us. Of course, the big camera died right before we decided to take the picture so we used the iphone. I guess the sun was too bright because out of 5 pictures this was the best. Micajah was cut out of all the others and dad was asleep through the whole process...ha!!

Crabdaddy's for Dinner

Dinner tonight was at Crabdaddy's with Micajah and Grace, Mom and Dad, Patricia and Jeff, and Walker and Walker Jr. Hyde had to go back to Natchez today. Boo!!

This picture was taken on the walk back to the condo. Jane loves Aunt Grace and Uncle Micajah! (What a mouthful...we aren't sure what Jane will end up calling him.)
We loved getting to hang out with Micajah and Grace over the weekend.

Unstoppable

We are in trouble!
Tonight, Jane showed us how fast and how far she could walk. This is the most she has walked up to date. Hyde, Papa Mike, Gran Jan and I watched in amazement then finally remembered to reach for the camera. There is no stopping her now....there will be a lot of chasing from now on.....

Eating Sand

Hyde and I took Jane to the beach Thursday, August 5. Just as I started filming, Jane decided to eat a fist full of sand. She must have really liked since she went back for more...Jane is definitely a Carby! She LOVES the beach! She fussed when we left for a nap.
