a Save the Date

Elizabeth Fisher, who I graduated high school with, has been living in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam since college and recently married in Greenwood. Her Save the Date card is below and I just had to share it because I think it is so good looking! She an Bien were married in Vietnam in November, but traveled back to Mississippi for her American wedding. What's really weird is that Hyde's roommate from college and a groomsman in our wedding, Ryan Hagemann, was a chef at Bien's restaurant in Vietnam! Small World!
Congratulations Elizabeth and Bien! Maybe we can come visit y'all one day soon!
 

Christmas Cookies with Kids

December 27th, we hosted a "Kids and Cookies" party gathering grandmoms, moms, and kiddos. A lot of friends were in town for Christmas and we wanted to have everyone in one place. The weather was nice enough to take the party outside and let the kids run off the sugar from the cookies and hot cocoa. We are sorry to miss those that could not make it, but look forward to seeing you next year! We had so much fun we want to make it an annual tradition!

Christmas 2010

15 Month Checkup

Today was Jane's 15 month checkup.  Jane was such a big girl that she didn't even cry for her shot (DTP). I was very proud of her for being strong and even showed off some of her tricks to Dr. Russ. She showed the doctor how old she is (she holds up her index finger), pointed to her ear and said "eye" (we are still working on that) and where her belly button is, and told her what an owl says. We were challenged to work on the transition from bottle to sippy cups for milk. Jane doesn't have a pacifier or lovie-she has her ba-ba. This is going to be tough. Everything else checked out okay and we were sent on our way. Afterwards, we went and got a pink balloon as a treat since she loves them so much then she slept for 3.5 hours!

Head: 18.5"
Weight: 25 pounds, 2 ounces (no wonder my back has been killing me!)
Height: 3"
(so she gained 2 pounds and grew 1" in 3 months)

Sturdivant Thanksgiving 2010

The Sturdivants gathered at Long Last Farm for Thanksgiving 2010. The Gaines Family was certainly missed! Bingo was not played this year, but we did play 2 rounds of LRC (left, right, center- a no skill/luck dice game played for money) and Gary won BOTH rounds! We all think he cheated!!

It's a girl! Introducing baby Stella!

Aunt Bettye Jane and Uncle Chops found out November 9 that they were having a GIRL! She will be named Stella in honor of her grandmother. Bettye Jane is named for her grandmother, as well as Stella. The past 4 generations goes as follows:
