Audubon Zoo: New Orleans

For my last weekend that I can travel, we visited the Laurel, Phillips, Isabel and Caroline Jenkins in New Orleans.  This was the first time to meet Caroline since she was born January 8, 2012.  She is precious and such a good baby! We had a pizza dinner Friday night with the Jenkins and Liz and Daniel Wisner, Phillips' and Hyde's cousin. Saturday morning, Hyde was able to ride with Daniel's cycling group and had a great time with the big group.
We headed to the Audubon Zoo for lunch and the afternoon! It was warm and very crowded, but everyone had a great time. Here are a few pics from the afternoon:

Isabel ready to go!

The Elephants!!
Waiting on the Carousel (first pick of animals)
Laurel and Caroline looking glamourous in the heat.
Isabel loved the Carousel.
Jane was excited about the Carousel until she stepped on it.
Jane absolutely hated the Carousel. I was so surprised!

Two peas in a pod!

Jane on the cheetah

Jane showed us one of her new dance moves after riding the cheetah. She got it from the preview of Madagascar on one of her DVDs. She turned and looked at Hyde and put her hands on her hips and started moving them from side to side and sang, "I like to move it, move it!" So great!

I've never seen a more active giraffe. He galloped around in front of us then would stop and pose. I've actually never seen a giraffe run before. It is very graceful and looks like he is in slow motion. We all loved the giraffes!
Snowcones!

The Train Ride: Right before they sacked out

She is out!

The Rountrees arrived at the house right before we pulled up from the zoo. The kids had a great time together.  For dinner, the adults went out to dinner at Bistro Daisy on Magazine Street. It was nice to have an adult night out!

Dad Honored by the Boy Scouts on Eagle Day

My Dad was honored last week by the Chicksaw Council of the BSA with whom he has worked for over 20 years. His name was on their Eagle kerchiefs and he gave a very nice talk and challenged the scouts to maintain and continue the ideals, integrity and work ethic that made their Eagle Scout designation possible.

We are very proud of him. Young Roy Bell's son and Albo Carruthers' son, Alex, were Eagles.

Week 35

We had a great checkup today. Jane and Hyde came with me and we were able to take a peek at the little one-everything except to tell the gender. I am very proud of Hyde for turning around during that part! I couldn't believe that all we had to do was turn our heads to find out the gender and we didn't! By this point, I'd be mad if there was a slip up and we found out. Here are the stats from the appointment:
Heartbeat: 157 bpm
Estimated Weight: 5 pounds, 13 ounces measuring a week ahead of schedule (36 weeks)
Dilation: 1/2 cm
Head is down and his/her foot is what kicks me on the left side of my tummy.
Chubby cheeks and cute puckered lips
My Weight: 172.6 pounds, so I've gained around 36 pounds

I start going back every week now
