Maggie's First Hunt

Saturday, September 5 was Maggie's first hunt in the field. She retrieved doves for Hyde, Charlie, and Philip on opening day of dove season. She did a great job for her first hunt and was exhausted at the end of the day, but ready to try again on Monday morning. Way to go Miss Mags!

Happy 1st "Barf"day, Miss Mags!

Yes, I had a birthday party in honor of our little brown dog turning one. Her actual birthday is July 5, but we celebrated with "cat"fish, hush"puppies, hot dogs, and dog bone shaped cookies, and "paw"lines and cream ice cream. Ha! This was a trial run for all the themed birthday parties to come.
We had a great time having friends over and cooking out. In honor of the occasion, Hyde and the boys bought a brand new 3 eye, outdoor, Bayou Classic cook stand.

New Long Last Farm Buddies

Miss Mags and I went to the farm this weekend and had a great time hanging out with Mom, Dad, and all the Long Last Farm critters. We played at the barn Saturday morning and Mags made several new friends. BB is still at the vet and was greatly missed, but we are glad the rock she swallowed was found and she is recovering.

Mags thought she would cool off in the water trough and made two new friends in the process. I thought it was appropriate that she picked the trough with the duck decoy.

MooMooChicken Update

Mom and Dad sent me to school on January 11 in Tomnolen, MS at Outback Lab. This is where I was born and I have several of my cousins in my class. Freddy McCrory works with me every day and I have learned to sit when told, stay until told otherwise, and heel to the left leg. I walk beside Freddy or Hyde's left leg, but never walk in front. I can also retrieve the dummy on the ground and in the water. I showed Mom and Dad how I could retrieve a dummy 40 yards in the water when they came to visit February 8th. I have become a very good swimmer in the 3 weeks I have been at school. They were able to give me lots of hugs and kisses (and mom only cried a little when she left). I can tell they miss me tons!!
