Papa Mike's Corn

What is this glorious golden cylinder of sweet, sweet manna from heaven (that my Papa Mike grew)? -Jane Jane took one look at this ear of corn and had to have it! I couldn't resist taking some pictures of her first corn on the cob. The next night Hyde caught it on video. Thanks Papa Mike, it is delicious!

Jane is 9 Months Old!

Wow! It has been a crazy month! I realize I am very behind on blogging, but give me a break-Jane is Mobile! I will be posting more with updates on past month, but we went to Jane's 9 month checkup this morning and I thought I would give the stats:

20 pounds, 2 ounces (75%)
29 inches (90%)
She can say Mamama, UhOh, and Bababa.
She clicks her tongue on the roof of her mouth, motorboats her lips, and is trying to make the pop sound with her lips.
She is a force of nature when it comes to crawling. She initially had a crab crawl, sliding one knee underneath her, but now she has figured out the one knee in front of the other concept and can really scoot.
She pulls up on everything that will hold her up and can walk around holding on to it.
She practically runs if she is holding on to our hands. She has a walker now and I can't keep up with her. She giggles and speeds up as I try to catch her. She will be walking any day now-as soon as she can get the confidence to stand by herself (for longer than 1-1.5 seconds)
She holds her own bottle and want to eat all by herself. She eats finger foods and uses a sippy cup for diluted juices.
She claps and smiles when we say "Yeah Jane" and waves goodbye.

I cannot believe Jane is already 9 months old. Time has flown by! She still amazes me every day.

Our new porch swing

 

 

 

We are finishing up on some house projects and the front porch is one of them. We needed to replace all the wood on the ceiling of the porch. In the process we added a porch swing, a fan and a swing for Jane. Jane loves swinging with us, but is still warming up to swinging by herself. Today, she enjoyed it for a longer time than usual.

Spending the night out

Jane is growing up so fast that she is spending the night out now! She
stayed with Stella and Philip two nights this weekend. She eats finger
foods (carrots, sweet potatoes, bananas, and green beans), somtimes
gets the spoon of food in her mouth, holds her bottle by herself and
doesn't want anything to do with any of us trying to feed her! After
dinner she enjoys bathtime but it must end with a good hair blowout.
Jane loves having her hair blow dried and we love experimenting with
new styles as her hair gets fuller and longer. Below is a picture of
Stella and Philip's final product. Looking good big girl!!
