First Pullup

Today, Jane pulled up on the side of her crib by herself for the first time!! I sat her in her crib and walked to the other side of the room and when I turned around she was standing looking over the railing. I yelled for Hyde to come see and her brought the camera. I got the full pull up on film, but most were blurry so here are the ones that turned out. WOW! We are in trouble. I guess it is time to lift the side rail and put the corner cushions on the coffee table!

Sisters

Friday morning (April 16), Hyde and I were getting breakfast ready while Jane played in the living room. We glanced in the living room to Maggie plop down beside Jane on her mat and let her pet her back. I ran to the camera and was able to catch one shot of them before Maggie moved. I absolutely love this picture! Maggie has been so sweet to her little sister and Jane loves watching Maggie as well as pulling on her hair. Maggie enjoys being close to Jane so she tolerates it.

Determination

Jane loves the iPhone and will do anything to get it. You can try to give her something else to distract her from the iPhone, but this girl is determined and does not forget about what she really wants! Her first steps will probably be in the direction of the phone!

Updates

Jane has been expressive with her hands since she was born. I remember the first time I held her and watching her move her long beautiful fingers as if she was conducting an orchestra. Little did I know that she was just starting her impressive conducting of her "staff" to do what she wants and when! She has us whipped!! While drinking her bottle, she flicks her wrist, shows us spirit fingers, or she feels your face including pinching your nose, fingers up the nose, grabbing your lips and inspecting your teeth. Or she pinches the skin on your neck or the back of your arm-which really hurts!
I love these hands! I love thinking about what they will do one day! It is exciting to think about all the things they could do-be an artist, a conductor or a musician, basketball player, surgeon, engineer, architect-the list is still growing. God only knows! I just pray I can help her reach her dreams in anything she wants to do.

queen carby

By the end of 3.5 hours of giving tours, we get a little delirious, and sometimes have to entertain ourselves. Stella and I decided to get dressed up in Esther Carpenter's Pilgrimage Queen crown and scepter. When I got home, I unpacked Jane's terry cloth crown, wand and mirror. She was loving dress up time just as much as we were!

Easter Playdate

Friday, April 2 we were able to have a playdate with some kiddos that came to town for Easter. In attendance was (mommy first)
Katie and Leah Tillman
Becky and Julia Claire Jex
Amelia and Gibson Salmon-Hillyer
Lauren and Carlyle Garrity
It was so pretty outside that we moved to blankets in the grass and changed into swimsuits for a dip in the pool. There were too many cute ones to include so I have attached the link to view all the pictures from the playdate. Too fun!
